I am usually honest and do not give five stars as often as I'd like to here in Oklahoma, but wow Volcano in Del City is amazing! I tried the Golden Fantasy roll after John P. said it was the best roll he's ever had. I wouldn't say it's the best roll I've had in the country, but it was very good! So, thank you John P! If you are a fan of tempura shrimp and mangoes definitely try this roll. I'm actually not a fan of fried foods or tempura, but being pregnant again changes things drastically, unfortunately. I also had their squid salad, and it was pretty decent, I've had better but there was nothing wrong with it. The unagi don or eel rice bowl tasted good, but tasted a little off. I'm used to the large sweet eel from other sushi places. The kind you get here the eel is thinner and the sweet eel sauce tastes very different. Anyways, it was edible and still pretty good, just was kind of disappointed in the flavor, because it was unexpected from what I am used to. Anyways, there was nothing wrong with my meal, and I will definitely be back. I live down the street so, I am very happy!

Excellent sushi, beautifully presented. I think we have tried every sushi restaurant in OKC and this is one of the best. They were great with my kid, friendly service, and the food was fresh and flavorful. Tuesday roll special buy one get one 1/2 off.

It's a very great place to either go sit down and eat or call in an order and take it wherever your heart desires. They have great prices and sometimes for everyone. I truly recommend it. Oh and if you go for lunch, you need to try the lunch box special which end at 4pm and it's a great deal. The only thing I didn't like was that I placed an 2 orders for pickup and they were they samething but they placed it in the same container when one of the orders was for one of my daughters that was taking it home to her place..it was just an inconvenience to take what I was going to eat so she can take her food to her house.

Just in town on business and grabbing a little dinner. This place had excellent service and good food. Large portions. I'd recommend this place.

My usual lunch hot spot when im feeling a bento box. Their bento boxes are priced low and it's a great amount not to say its actually pretty good as well. The first time I was in their sushi chefs were handing out samples of their white tuna with ponzu sauce. It really shows how much their care about their customers when they release new dishes.

I recently ate here and the staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. Would recommend to anyone!

Great sushi, service is great too! I love the prices the rolls are around $1 each less then places of the same caliber. I love stopping in for a quick bite, always fresh and fast service!

I love this place. every time I come here always fresh and great. The crispy crab is my favorite.

Their hibachi is terrible, small portion size for the price and wasn't that tasty either. The sushi is amazing! We like twin tower and Lady Luck, I think that's what it's called.

I can't believe I'm going to say this. I feel almost embarrassed since I'm from California. But this Sushi bar served me the best roll I've ever had in my life. It was called the golden fantasy roll which was basically a shrimp tempura roll with fresh mango on the top. I went to heaven when I ate it. The mango was so perfectly ripe it must be what impossible tastes like if you could taste impossible. The tuna roll and california roll were actually a little below average for me. But since they served me the best sushi roll I've ever had I had to give them 5 stars. I wanted to get one for the plane ride home but didn't have time. I will now dream of visiting Oklahoma again to eat this roll. Their gyoza was also pretty awesome and went into my list of top 5 gyoza. The space ship is also another roll to try. I'm still stunned how delicious it all was. I would avoid the basic sushi and stick with their specialty rolls.

I was really impressed. Complimentary cucumber salad, that I suppose is a thing they do for everyone. I ordered the clear soup expecting a bowl of brothy water and got so much more. Delicious broth with mushrooms and fried onions. My philly roll was great. Simple, but an easy roll to screw up if you don't have fresh ingredients. Ordered lava cake for desert. Not very lava-ey. More like a small, rich, dense chocolate cake with whipped cream, raspberries and a cherry on top with raspberry and kiwi sauce at the bottom. Not complaining, it was great... and you probably really don't need a lava cake anyway.

Food and service was excellent. The waitress was also so sweet. Ordered the chicken katsu - perfect amount of crunch and meat. For dessert, got the fried banana and it was amazing! Presentation was also superb.

I hate to have to write this, but the service right now makes me not want to come back. As fresh as the rolls are, the staff either does not have any help, or there is one person in the back making everything. I brought my husband and father here tonight only to wait 20 mins after being seated to get our order taken (this includes appetizers), close to 45 mins for our food, and now another 20 mins to receive an extra sushi roll. We saw more people asking for our plates than our own waitress. There was no apology or acknowledgment about how long everything took. Now it seems like everyone else is getting the proper service except for our table... Will be trying another place with faster service...

There's a lot to say about Volcano sushi. Walking in the interior design is of luxury standards and kept very tidy. The hostess was kind and led us to the sushi bar. Drinks where out quick as well as a complimentary appetizer of pickled cucumbers lucky me! I ordered the Ak47 roll and I was recommended to get the lucky lady since I wanted some spice for the night. It arrived in about 12 minutes and they looked spectacular and I can say the same about the taste. Lucky lady had a serachi in it which made it spicy and sweet in a good way. Ak47 is a roll to consider for its slight crunch to its smooth texture. I haven't had good sushi in a while and I would keep coming back here again and again! Notes- They serve alcohol and have a flat screen to watch sports with your bros. 5 stars and nothing less!

3.5 for Volcano in Del City. Pros: - Ambience is trendy and date-worthy. - Service is efficient for a high-traffic lunch turnover from Tinker. They ask ahead of time if you want split checks. Very polite staff. - Military discount! Even if not in uniform, show your ID. - Pickled cucumber instead of pickled ginger here :P Cons: - Fish quality is nothing I'd write home about. Had a spicy tuna roll with fish masticated to the point of being a paste. Sorryyyyy. I gave up raw fish paste for my yearly sacrifice to the saints. Even though I'm not Catholic. - Miso soup tastes like it came from an instant powder, nothing like Tokyo sushi's. Grainy and watery with flavorless tofu. - Quality. 'Scuse the pretentious highfalootin' moment here, but if you cook a lot you can tell that the cooked items are definitely passable but not very fresh tasting. My guess is a lot of packages here are defrosted and unwrapped. (Not to say it doesn't happen elsewhere...) Worth creating your own opinion about, but not this girl's #1 or #2.

Always good. Can at times be on the slow side at peak rush hour times. Love the super duper roll and earthquake rolls. Great value with the lunch bento - I like to sub extra salad for the rice.

  • Theresa D.

I'm the kind of person where I find something I like, it's hard for me to try anything else. I'm a sucker for the mango magic. Shrimp tempura rolled with mango topped with tuna and a thin slice of lemon peel. It's a bursting combination of flavor. If you just want a simple roll they are reasonably priced. And if you don't want to deal with raw fish there's cooked rolls and bent boxes and hibachi grilled menu items. It's a safe restaurant for a good selection of Japanese dishes. It's not too crowded during peak meal hours or their service makes it seem that way. Pretty good for sushi in Oklahoma.

Speedy & attentive wait staff. Only complaint was a refill of my water wasn't offered until I had finished my meal. I had the Sake roll & Empire roll, both were delicious. The Empire roll was hot when I got it, so no delay in delivery. Excited to find good sushi in OKC, I will be returning.

  • Brit M.

This is honestly my favorite sushi place IN ALL of OKC! It is also so affordable! They start off with a complementary cucumber salad and it is TO DIE FOR! The lucky lady roll is usually what I always get if I am having dinner there and oh man... It is THE BEST roll that they have by far! Everything is so fresh and service is always outstanding! It is also a really nice atmosphere! The bento boxes are also.... AH MAY ZING!!!!!!! They are SO CHEAP! Less than 10$ and you get a soup, salad, 2 choices of rolls, and rice! It is SO MUCH good food for so cheap! Love this place! I recommend it to anyone! I have been multiple times and have NEVER not liked it!

  • Bernard W.

A little pricy but it's worth it when you're in the mood for sushi. I always get the Philly or ship tempura rolls. Their Cali rolls are pretty good too.

  • Aquilah A.

I really like this place. The food is really good and fresh. The service is a little slow so if in a rush this would t be the best place. I will return.

  • Angela S.

First things first- Kim, the bartender, is very attentive and personable. You must sit at the sushi bar. The food: The OKC roll is the bomb diggity, AK-47 is great, crazy jalapeño is to die for! Sit at the sushi bar- you get better service and a free sushi bar appetizer that changes daily. Tuesday is buy 1 roll get 1 half price- can't beat that! I'll be back!

    (5)
  • Alex B.

Awesome place to eat. Love the cucumber salad. Clear soup goes right for the soul. Habachi steak dinner is decent priced and all of it is healthy. Can't beat that. Staff is super nice and quick also. Military friendly

  • Mike G.

I think the sushi is great. The rest of the food isn't bad, not great, but not bad. The service is good. The server staff was very friendly. The lunch special is an exceptional value. The rest of the prices are fair. If you're looking for a good sushi place for lunch, I recommend it.

  • Amy C.

This place had pretty decent reviews so I decided to give it a try. The service was great and the staff was friendly but the food was horrible. I ordered the tuna tar tar and the soft shell crab. I took one bite and was unable to eat the rest. The tuna tar tar was nothing like I had gotten before and more like a guacamole served with tortilla chips. I will say I am an out of towner so I don't know if maybe I'm just accustom to better sushi, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who has had decent sushi in their life. I will definitely not be returning but I hope others have a better experience than me.

We had tickets to Aziz last Monday at Rose State, so we hit up Volcano in this new strip that has so much good food. Sushi had sounded really good to me, and I was excited to try it. The building itself is new and nice, and the decor is nice. We really wanted a booth, and they let us sit there since it was early and the place wasn't super busy yet. I think they opened up the little side room after we had been seated, but that looked really nice as well. We tried the Golden Fantasy roll and the Dragon Roll, and they were both delicious. We loved the presentation and the size of the slices - easier to eat and more to enjoy. The flavors were delicious and the fish was fresh and perfectly cut. We also had the salads - they were very fresh - I especially loved the dressing. We enjoyed our hot sake and Sapporos, and I'm sure we'll be back sometime soon when we're up this way!

Biggest "darn" sushi rolls in town! Everything was very good except the bartender was "already off work" at 2:00 in the afternoon. Could've had five stars! Overall grade "A". I'll be back!

I'm a fairly regular Volcano Sushi goer, since they've opened this one in the Del City area. But after tonight that may change. I ordered three rolls to go: American Roll, Dragon Roll, and Baked Crawfish Roll. All three were SECURELY placed in a single to go tray, that is to say each piece was very snug against the others. Well practically every piece we picked out came apart as it was being removed. They unrolled, pieces fell out from the middle, it definitely seemed to be a rush job. The icing on the cake was when the loose pieces would completely separate when dipped in soy sauce. I use to go to Sushi Neko before this place opened. I'm not sure if this was done because we ordered to go, or if the chefs were just lazy tonight. What I do know is if it continues, another location will once again get my business. Step it up chefs.

One of my co-workers got take-out from Volcano Sushi yesterday and I must say that I was impressed. I did not know what to expect from a $10 dollar lunch combo but I was impressed! For ten dollars you get Miso soup (which could've been a little fuller), a salad which also could've been a little fuller (I mean it's iceberg lettuce for goodness sake!) and three different rolls. The quality of the rolls was good although a bit on the small size. I recommend this place to anyone looking for good sushi in the area!

What a wonderful surprise. I'm on OK City for business and never thought I would find great sushi in OKC! I was wrong, this place is outstanding as well as reasonably priced. I ate here for lunch and dinner. Great Dragon rolls and hand rolls. I will be back before my trip ends.

This place is awesome! I've been leery of all these sushi shops that have popped up all over the metro. Most of them have let me down. However, Volcano met my expectations and then some. My first time here was with a party of 22 people on a Saturday night. We completely filled up the little private room, and we had one waitress. Despite just having one server, she was amazing and kept all our orders not only correct separate tickets, but orders were keyed in correctly with with special diets and requests. Drinks stayed filled and she was super attentive. The service alone won me over. And even though we were a huge group, food came out rather quickly and was beautifully presented and tasted great! We ordered shrimp tempura, tuna tataki, Godzilla roll, and a baked crawfish roll. The tempura was not greasy and the batter was light and crispy. The Godzilla roll had awesome real chunks of crabmeat! And the crawfish roll was flavorful as well. I returned less than a week later for lunch. Once again, service was fantastic and my group ordered quite a bit of food (squid tempura, Golden Fantasy, earthquake roll, King lobster roll, penguin roll, as well as mango cheesecake and fried banana. Again, the amount of food we ordered still came out quickly and beautifully presented. The Golden fantasy roll was really refreshing with the mango on top. I love lobster so the King Lobster roll hit the spot for me. Smoked salmon on the penguin roll was really good too. The earthquake roll was fantastic too. Mango cheesecake wasn't what I expected, it wasn't cheesecake at all! It was mango mousse, but still refreshing and good, just don't expect a rich and thick cheesecake. The fried banana was an unexpected and pleasant surprise! It is presented as a little boat with the banana removed and fried inside! I'm hungry now after typing this review out :(

This place was pretty good. The venue was nice. The atmosphere was very relaxed. I ordered the crawfish roll which I would highly recommend. Service was great. The only thing that I took a star for was the price.. Very small delicious rolls but a little pricey.

This place is amazing. So fresh and colorful! We got 4 special rolls and loved them all! They give you a cucumber appetizer as well. I didn't try the salad, but the miso soup was great! Definitely would recommend this place for sushi lovers!

  • Chris G.

This is a great sushi place to fill your belly. It is pretty inexpensive for sushi and it has good appetizers. My favorite roll they make here is the 80 degree. Each meal comes with some delicious vinegared cucumbers. This isn't the fanciest or best sushi place in the world but it is clean and quick and the sushi is good.

Overall a great experience. My girlfriend and I ate dinner at this location on a Saturday night around 6. The place was very clean and classy, not the typical gaudy Asian style restaurant that makes you feel like its an all you can eat buffet dive. I ate the Spicy Crab Crunch Roll and my girlfriend had the Sake Roll. The rolls were well portioned and well presented. The rolls had thick pieces of crab and shrimp as compared to some other substandard sushi places where you get mostly rice with a few pieces of the main fish or vegetables. The wait staff was very helpful and kind and service was prompt. We waited about 12-15 minutes for our order which was about average for a handcrafted meal such as sushi. I have seen several other postings where people have complained about the wait or the service, most of which have come from people who are looking for a fast lunch. I encountered no problems and the food was great. As for the atmosphere, it was great and mellow, a type of atmosphere where you can enjoy a date and actually hold a conversation with someone, until someone brought their bratty kids in, who takes their kids to a sushi restaurant anyway? I would highly recommend Volcano Sushi to anyone looking for a great dinner in the Midwest City/Del City area.

When I first got there they didn't offer a high chair for my son. So my husband went ahead and got it himself. The service didn't seem very attentive until the big party they had there already was pretty much ready to leave. Other than that.. I really really loved the food! We got the godzilla roll, spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, alaskan roll and philly roll. Everything was so fresh and delicious! I can't wait to come back and try more rolls. The service at this point on was excellent. I didn't think the prices were bad at all.

Very good! Prices were very reasonable, service started a little slow, but we got everything quickly after that. They have a huge roll selection! We each ordered a appetizer with one roll and it was the perfect amount. We will definitely be returning to try more of there menu.

Food and service was excellent. The waitress was also so sweet. Ordered the chicken katsu - perfect amount of crunch and meat. For dessert, got the fried banana and it was amazing! Presentation was also superb.

Their hibachi is terrible, small portion size for the price and wasn't that tasty either. The sushi is amazing! We like twin tower and Lady Luck, I think that's what it's called.

Always good. Can at times be on the slow side at peak rush hour times. Love the super duper roll and earthquake rolls. Great value with the lunch bento - I like to sub extra salad for the rice.

A little pricy but it's worth it when you're in the mood for sushi. I always get the Philly or ship tempura rolls. Their Cali rolls are pretty good too.

I really like this place. The food is really good and fresh. The service is a little slow so if in a rush this would t be the best place. I will return.
